We're Chris, Clare and Matt - three marketeers with over 60 years combined agency and client-side experience in marketing and lead generation.

At Waffle, we offer the expertise and guidance normally found within a specialist agency or internal marketing team, remotely and affordably.  When you work with us you don't have to worry about employment costs like holiday, pensions and sick pay!

We are driven by a desire to support small and medium-sized businesses so that you can focus on what you do best - running your business.

We don't just talk about it - we've done it for years; within creative agencies, mailing houses, printers and within blue-chip FTSE 100 companies.  We have the experience and practical knowledge of working as both clients and suppliers, so we are in a great position to understand what you want and what you need.

Chris Brown

I’m Chris, the Client Partner at Waffle.  I’ve worked in the industry since the 1990s after completing my honours degree in marketing.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with some great teams and clients over the years.  Moving between financial services companies, suppliers and creative agencies has given me a great understanding of the dynamics that run this exciting and ever-changing medium.

The last couple of years has thrown everything up in the air for us all.  Whilst some are still waiting to see how things fall, I've taken the opportunity to turn the situation into a positive one.  Starting Waffle with trusted friends and colleagues seemed like an opportunity too good to miss. 


Clare Base

I’m Clare and I’m the social media marketing specialist in Waffle. I have a broad background in client-side marketing communications and hold both CIM and IDM Diplomas in marketing.

Looking to find a more flexible career path, in 2018 I studied alongside work and kids with Digital Mums to gain my Diploma in Strategic Social Media Marketing which was the catapult for my leap into the freelance world.

Quite honestly I jumped at the chance to be a part of Waffle. After all, supporting small/medium-sized businesses with their marketing was one of the key drivers for my move to freelance work. So knowing I could continue to do that as part of a small team with a diverse range of skills and experience, to enhance our offering to businesses, well it just made sense!


Matt Morris

I'm Matthew and as Commercial Partner, a key part of my role is building exciting and successful relationships with clients, suppliers and like-minded individuals whom we can work alongside.


My background has taken me on a marketing journey of client-side and agency settings as well as creative and production environments, with a focus on Client Services and Business Development.


Co-founding Waffle was a decision I made without hesitation as I've always had a burning desire to build a positive and enjoyable agency that strikes the perfect balance of looking after its clients in a personable and honest manner, whilst being an inspiring environment to work within.

Our story

How it all began...

Born from the biggest commercial upheaval in modern times, we spotted a gap in the market to offer our expertise to businesses who needed external help with their marketing on an affordable basis.

Having recently moved away from permanent employment to explore freelance opportunities individually  - we quickly realised we could offer much more by working together as a small team.  Working together means we can give businesses the best of both worlds through the benefits you'd get from working with individual freelancers and also with agencies.

We understand not every business is looking to employ a marketing team nor do they want the costs that come with a specialised marketing agency, and so that's where Waffle comes in.  Think of us as one of the team.

Everything that we do is underpinned by our core values of 'Honesty', 'Integrity' and 'Simplicity', enabling us to build trust and confidence with our customers, without the waffle.
